Heavy stump pulling work at Estevan Point. 414 Heavy work at Estevan Point.  Block and tackle in evidence.  Perhaps they are rearranging the stumps in the garden.
415 Estevan point Radio Operations building in the 1940's.  This side faces to the west.  The building was pulled down in the 1970's.  The left hand side was the power house while the right hand side was the radio operations room.  Note the long wire antenna feeding into the building via the white mast.

Caterpillar tractor and garage--unknown location in BC interior. 418 A three bay garage with a caterpillar tractor heading out.  Location unknown, but blowing the photo up, makes the hills in the background visible--they are vegetated as in the dryer BC interior.
Hesquiat beach landing--workboat unloading passengers. 419 Hesquiat.  Workboat unloading passengers from the steamer.  George Ignace standing in the water assisting.  Lady standing with the small child is could be Betty-Lou Grey.
The Redfords and Jack Bowerman at Estevan Point. 420 Mr. & Mrs. E. Redford with Jack Bowerman at Estevan.   Redford was the operator who radioed to the outside world that the lighthouse was being shelled by the Japanese in the June 1942.  Thanks for the ID, Dick.

Group with pickup truck at Hesquiat landing. 423  Estevan Station's landing shack at Hesquiat.  Note the truck has the front left fender missing, the headlights are tilted down and the addition of another light in the left wheel well.  This was so the driver could navigate the plank road back to the station from Hesquiat.  Two of the lads appear in 409.
Taken on the Tender Estevan.  Capt. Harry Bilton on left. 424 Photo taken on the buoy tender Estevan.  Captain Harry Bilton, 20 years the skipper, on the left.  Others are unknown.  Bilton retired in 1945.  See newspaper clipping from 1954 regarding Estevan skippers here.
